Safari Etiquette

On a safari, it's all about the wildlife. You are a visitor in their homeland.

Here are a few hints on how to have the best experience.

  1. Do blend in. Now is not the time for tie-dye. Stick to muted brown, khaki, and light green clothes.
  2. Don't wear cammo. In Africa, it associated with the military - often negatively. Your a tourist, not GI Joe.
  3. Do pack soft-sided luggage. Hard-shell bags are typically packed at the bottom of the pile in buses and jeeps, and they're the last to be unloaded.
  4. Don't wear cologne or perfume. The animals small you from miles away and keep their distance. Polo SPort has its place - but it's not on safari.
